Hi there, I’m Torre.

My journey began with creativity in the margins—quite literally. As a high school student, I filled my notebooks with sketches, letterforms and illustrations, a natural prelude to earning a BA in Visual Communications and building a career as a graphic designer.

But creativity thrives on challenge, and I was seeking more. I moved to San Francisco, took on new design roles and embraced a new life—only to realise I was still searching for deeper creative fulfilment. That pursuit led me on an unconventional path: sailing back to Australia on a small boat, navigating not just the ocean but my own ambitions.

Two years at sea gave me a story worth telling, and when I wrote that story, it sold to five publishers. That unexpected success launched a career in writing—publishing books, contributing to Lonely Planet anthologies, creating an award-winning blog, and earning praise from Elizabeth Gilbert, who called my work ‘right on the money… and very inspiring.’

Yet, as much as I loved storytelling, I craved connection, collaboration and a creative practice that extended beyond the solitary world of writing. Returning to Australia, I merged my expertise in design with my love of narrative, founding Story Shape—a creative studio that brings strategic storytelling, branding and design together to help businesses craft compelling messages.

Now, I work with brands and businesses to distil their essence into powerful visuals and messaging, shaping stories that resonate and endure.
