The story

After becoming a parent and stay-at-home dad, Jeremy Smith was disappointed to discover that, in North East Victoria, there was no easily-accessed first-aid training that catered to parents of young children.

For nearly 20 years, Jeremy had built a career as a paramedic and paramedic teacher, and had personally experienced how first aid can be the difference between a child surviving an emergency – or not.

He decided to do something about it.

He had all the skills needed to build an outstanding education service that would bring first-aid knowledge to parents in the regions. As well as working on road, he’d also educated volunteer ambulance officers in the most remote parts of Australia, spent a year in Mongolia developing a first-aid training program for the Red Cross, and trained hundreds of medics for the Australian Defence Force.

Mighty First Aid became his new venture, and his passion is to ensure that parents in regional and remote areas have access to learning basic skills that might one day save a life.
