“I felt very nurtured and undertstood by Torre throughout the process of creating and launching Spare Parts Art Space.”

The story
Any creative person knows that art and fear are familiar bed-pals. And for artist and Spare Parts founder Karen Mills, fear dominated for decades, blocking her creative flow, leaving her listless and incomplete.
It was in her late 30s that an idea came to her:
It would be a space of belonging. A space of experimentation and play. A space for people of all ages to gather, discover and make.
Stepping into Karen's Spare Parts Art Space is immediately enchanting. Built in an industrial area of Mornington, there's a wash of ease that comes over the heart of any creative when they walk through the door and into the converted warehouse.
Smooth concrete floors invite mess-making of the wild abandon kind, while exposed ply walls showcase an inspiring range of finished pieces – each a colourful story told with buttery oils or acrylics or cut paper.
This is a sanctuary for humans of all walks to put fear aside and let their beautiful, creative selves unfurl.

The space was launched with great success and quickly gained full occupancy from working artists renting the individual available rooms. The workshops were a hit, frequently booked out, offering a schedule of exciting classes for both kids and adults.
